What happened?
An Amazon seller forum announcement states that, from October 26, 2026, sellers on Amazon US must answer new dangerous goods and compliance questions when creating or editing Listings in certain categories. Covered products include refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers that may involve refrigerants; shock absorbers and suspension lift supports; markers and other writing instruments; and pool and spa water treatment products. The questions are mainly intended to identify refrigerant attributes, shock-absorption structures, ink properties, and chemical composition and packaging requirements. The announcement says that providing accurate information will help the system determine dangerous goods status, unlock more delivery options, and reduce Listing delays, inventory disposal or additional fees caused by incomplete information. Existing Listings do not need to be modified all at once immediately after the announcement, but the new questions will appear the next time sellers create or edit them. Therefore, cross-border sellers of appliances, auto parts, stationery, pool chemicals and other potentially dangerous goods should prepare SDSs, safety labels, ingredient information, packaging and transportation documents before October 26.
What does this mean for cross-border sellers?
From October 26, 2026, new dangerous goods and compliance questions will appear when creating or editing Listings in certain Amazon US categories. Sellers of appliances, auto parts, stationery and pool water-treatment products should update their Listing workflows. Incomplete information may cause Listing delays, inventory disposal or additional fees. Existing Listings do not need to be updated immediately, but the new questions will be triggered upon the next edit.
What should sellers do now?
- 1Audit refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers, shock absorbers, markers and pool water-treatment products by store. Create a compliance file for each SKU, add SDSs, safety labels, ingredient information, packaging and transportation documents, and compile a gap list.Listing character checker
- 2Before creating or editing the relevant existing Listings on Amazon US, run a mock process and record each question on refrigerants, shock-absorption structures, ink properties, and chemical composition and packaging. Prepare an answer sheet for direct submission and ensure no fields are left blank.
