Walmart Marketplace issued a compliance notice confirming that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) electronic filing requirement takes effect on July 8, 2026. For products subject to mandatory CPSC safety rules that are imported into the United States for sale, storage, or commercial distribution, the importer or U.S. manufacturer must electronically submit a Certificate of Compliance to U.S. Customs and Border Protection when the goods enter the country. Relevant products entering the United States through a foreign trade zone (FTZ) will be subject to the requirement from January 8, 2027. Walmart specifically emphasized that it will not act as the importer of record for Marketplace sellers.
