- 3The surcharge is calculated on fulfillment fees rather than product prices
What happened?
Amazon announced changes to fuel and logistics-related surcharges for European FBA and MCF. The European FBA surcharge will increase from 1.5% to 2% on November 2, 2026, covering the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Belgium. European MCF will apply the same adjustment in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Spain from November 19, 2026. The surcharge is not calculated based on product prices; it is charged based on fulfillment fees. Amazon estimates that European FBA will increase by approximately £0.02/€0.02 per unit on average, although the actual amount depends on product size, weight, and shipping method. Affected sellers include those using FBA, MCF, or multi-country inventory in Europe. Cross-border products with low selling prices, small and light items, and low profit margins will face more pronounced cost pressure.
What does this mean for cross-border sellers?
The surcharge adjustment will affect fulfillment costs for European FBA and MCF sellers. Because the charge is calculated on fulfillment fees rather than product prices, low-priced and low-margin products are more vulnerable to margin compression. Sellers using multi-country inventory should also review size, weight, shipping method, and the combination of inventory transfers and fulfillment.
