Amazon Expands MRN and EORI Requirements for EU Shipments

What happened?
Amazon Europe announced that, from September 1, 2026, sellers registered outside the EU must provide a valid MRN import declaration reference number and EORI Economic Operators Registration and Identification number for shipments sent through the Pan-EU program to EU fulfillment centers, as well as shipments sent directly to French fulfillment centers. Previously, the requirement mainly applied to shipments entering French warehouses directly. The new requirement further covers shipments entering EU fulfillment centers in Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, and the Czech Republic through the Pan-EU network. Amazon warned that if valid import details are still missing after the specified 60-day period expires, sellers will be unable to create new shipments to EU fulfillment centers, while inventory already received at Amazon warehouses may continue to be sold. The sellers most affected include entities in China, the United States, and other non-EU locations, particularly those that prepare inventory in China or other third countries before entering the EU FBA network. Sellers must also ensure that the importer of record, first country of entry, customs clearance entity, MRN, EORI, and commercial invoice information are consistent to reduce the risk of inbound restrictions, customs delays, inventory stockouts, or disruptions to inter-warehouse transfers.
