Amazon UK Updates FBM Handling-Time Requirements
The UK marketplace has phased in rules for account-level default handling times and automatic SKU handling times. Low-value shipments from outside the EU must also comply with IOSS, carrier, and electronic customs-data requirements.
What are the key facts?
- 1UK account-level default handling time mainly shows 0-day and 1-day options from July 15, 2026
- 2Eligible SKUs may have automatic handling time enabled from September 1, 2026
- 3Shipments from outside the EU valued at no more than €150 must meet the relevant requirements
What happened?
Amazon’s official seller forum disclosed that, since July 15, 2026, the UK marketplace’s account-level default handling-time settings have mainly displayed 0-day and 1-day options. From September 1, 2026, Amazon may enable automatic handling time for a SKU if its configured handling time exceeds its actual fulfillment performance by at least 1 day continuously for more than 30 days. In addition, shipments from outside the EU valued at no more than €150 must comply with IOSS, carrier, and electronic customs-data requirements. The original notice emphasized that these policy changes were not first published within the past 48 hours; their effective dates predate the current search window and therefore they cannot be counted as news from the past 48 hours.
What does this mean for cross-border sellers?
UK FBM sellers should recheck account-level default handling times and SKU settings to avoid triggering automatic handling time when configured values remain at least 1 day above actual fulfillment performance for more than 30 days. For low-value shipments to the UK from outside the EU, also verify IOSS, carrier, and electronic customs data so the information remains consistent throughout fulfillment.
What should sellers do now?
- 1Log in to the UK FBM account this week, verify whether the account-level default handling time only needs to be configured with 0-day and 1-day options, and export or save screenshots of the current settings for subsequent review.Listing character checker
- 2Filter all UK FBM SKUs, compare configured handling times with actual fulfillment performance, and flag SKUs that have remained at least 1 day higher and may continue for more than 30 days to create an itemized remediation list.
- 3For each UK shipment from outside the EU valued at no more than €150, check whether IOSS, carrier, and electronic customs data are complete, and produce a list of missing items and responsible owners.
