According to eBay’s official policy page, the EU will impose a €3 customs duty on imported e-commerce goods valued at no more than €150 starting July 1, 2026. In response, eBay will require sellers, from October 1, 2026, to use Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping services for customs clearance on parcels shipped from Japan or South Korea to the EU when the item price excluding shipping is no more than €150. The policy covers sellers based in Japan and South Korea and also affects cross-border merchants shipping to EU markets such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands through warehouses in Japan or South Korea. If a seller does not use DDP and this results in a buyer dispute, the seller will be responsible for handling the dispute, and the account may also face selling restrictions. Sellers should verify whether their logistics providers support DDP, prepaid duties and taxes, customs-clearance data, and dispute handling.
