What happened?
TikTok Shop U.S. announced a TikTok Shipping logistics arrangement under which new size and weight surcharges may apply to both Standard Shipping and Collection by TikTok (CBT), effective October 5, 2026. Parcels with a longest side over 48 inches or volume over 10,368 cubic inches will incur a $10.15 size surcharge per package. Parcels with a longest side over 96 inches or volume over 17,280 cubic inches may incur a $79.99 surcharge. Actual weight over 50 pounds will incur $10.15, while weight over 100 pounds will incur $79.99.
CBT currently states that it can save up to 40% compared with Standard Shipping and offers pickup in some areas. During the peak season, Standard Shipping rates will be adjusted from October 5 through January 17, 2027, while CBT rates will remain unchanged. Sellers of furniture, fitness equipment, pet supplies, bulky home goods, and auto parts should review packaging dimensions and billable weight.
What does this mean for cross-border sellers?
Sellers of furniture, fitness equipment, pet supplies, bulky home goods, and auto parts should review packaging dimensions and actual weight before October 5, 2026. TikTok Shipping may charge surcharges of $10.15 or $79.99 when the longest side, volume, or weight exceeds the thresholds, and Standard Shipping peak-season rates will also change from October 5 through January 17, 2027.
