What happened?
Amazon has announced a temporary peak-season arrangement for delays in international FBA inbound shipments, covering shipping plans created from August 1 through November 30, 2026. For the same multi-destination inbound plan, the receiving window for subsequent linked shipments relative to the first shipment will be extended from 30 days to 45 days. Eligible sellers will not be charged the corresponding removal or disposal defect fees as long as the remaining shipments are received within 45 days after the first shipment is received. In addition, the system will automatically extend the window for shipping plans still in transit to 90 days. Amazon said qualifying inbound defect fees that have already been charged will be refunded, although the related defects may still appear in the Inbound Performance Dashboard. The arrangement is mainly aimed at cross-border FBA sellers affected by ocean shipping delays, port congestion and customs holds, particularly sellers using China-to-US routes, East Coast routes and multi-destination split inbound shipments.
What does this mean for cross-border sellers?
For international FBA shipping plans created from August 1 through November 30, 2026, the receiving window for subsequent linked shipments will increase from 30 to 45 days, while the window for plans in transit will automatically extend to 90 days. Use the buffer to manage ocean delays, port congestion or customs holds, and check whether previously charged inbound defect fees should be refunded.
