What happened?
According to an announcement from TikTok Shop Singapore Seller Academy, the platform will adjust commissions for all product categories from 00:00 on September 1, 2026. For products not included in a specific rate table, the default platform commission will be 9.810% for standard sellers and 7.085% for BXP sellers. If a BXP seller is suspended for failing to meet the requirements, orders will be charged at the standard rate. Orders containing BXP-restricted products may also be subject to the standard rate. The BXP-restricted products listed in the announcement include infant formula, gold jewelry, and semi-finished gold. Mixed orders may involve both discounted commissions and additional BXP service fees. The adjustment will affect local and cross-border sellers of apparel, electronics, beauty products, mother and baby products, jewelry, and other categories in Singapore. Sellers need to recalculate commissions based on SKU, order structure, and BXP eligibility.
What does this mean for cross-border sellers?
The commission adjustment will directly reduce gross margin per order for affected SKUs. Standard and BXP sellers have different default rates, while suspended BXP accounts or restricted products may be charged at the standard rate. Mixed orders may also incur both discounted commissions and additional BXP service fees, so sellers should not estimate costs using a single uniform rate.
What should sellers do now?
- 1This week, organize Singapore-listed products by SKU, apply the default rates of 9.810% for standard sellers and 7.085% for BXP sellers separately, and recalculate per-unit margin and the minimum acceptable selling price.Finance
- 2Verify BXP eligibility and separately flag BXP-restricted products such as infant formula, gold jewelry, and semi-finished gold to avoid incorrectly applying the 7.085% rate.Platform Policy
- 3Sample mixed orders containing different products, confirm whether discounted commissions and additional BXP service fees apply, and enter the actual charges into the order calculation sheet.
