TikTok Shop Updates LIVE Product Listing Process
TikTok Shop clarifies separate operating requirements for fixed-price, temporary Buy Now, and auction listings in US livestream sales; auction listings must also be started in the LIVE console.
What are the key facts?
- 1Livestream sellers must select a listing type based on the sales format
- 2Temporary Buy Now listings are only for the current livestream
- 3Auction products require separate retail and starting prices
- 4New products must include multiple accurate and authentic data fields
What happened?
TikTok Shop updated its LIVE Product Listing Guide on September 29, 2026, clarifying that US livestream sellers must select different listing types according to the sales format. Standard products must first be created in Seller Center and approved before they can be added to the livestream shopping bag. Temporary Buy Now listings are only for the current livestream; they are removed after the livestream ends and must be recreated for another livestream. For auction products, sellers must select “Fixed price and auction” in the product settings and enter the retail price and starting price separately. Enabling auction does not automatically start the auction; sellers must still configure and start it in the LIVE console. New products must include authentic product images and accurate category, brand, attributes, SKU, price, inventory, and package dimensions. The change particularly affects cross-border sellers using livestream sales, auctions, temporary products, or bulk uploads. Selecting the wrong sales format may prevent products from entering the shopping bag, delay review, or prevent transactions during the livestream.
What does this mean for cross-border sellers?
US livestream sellers must create the correct listing for fixed-price, temporary Buy Now, or auction sales, or products may fail to enter the shopping bag, face review delays, or fail to transact. Before livestreams, verify product information, especially the retail price, starting price, and LIVE console launch status for auction listings.
What should sellers do now?
- 1For the next livestream, check each US product’s sales format; confirm that standard products were created and approved in Seller Center, and confirm that temporary Buy Now products are limited to the current livestream and add them to a recreation list.Listing character checker
- 2Check the settings for livestream auction listings, confirm that “Fixed price and auction” is selected and that the retail price and starting price are entered separately, then complete configuration and launch a test in the LIVE console.Listing Optimizer
- 3Create an information-verification checklist for new livestream products, checking authentic images, category, brand, attributes, SKU, price, inventory, and package dimensions item by item; submit for review only after all fields are complete.
