Walmart Opens Pricing and Promotion API Sandbox Simulations
Walmart is opening pricing and promotion simulation capabilities to some approved technology service providers and requires providers to migrate to OAuth 2.0.
What are the key facts?
- 1Dynamic pricing and promotion sandbox simulations opened to some approved providers
- 2New Delegated Access key creation has ended
- 3Existing keys are expected to work only through the end of September 2026
- 4Providers must migrate to OAuth 2.0 and have sellers reauthorize
What happened?
Walmart’s U.S. Marketplace Developer Platform announced on September 8, 2026, that Marketplace is making dynamic Sandbox Pricing and Promo Simulations available to some approved Solution Providers. The feature is designed to test changes before officially modifying product prices, promotional prices, or other promotion parameters. It is not available to all ordinary sellers; it targets approved technology service providers that connect to Walmart APIs and provide sellers with ERP, listing, pricing, or promotion management services. Whether a seller can use the feature depends on whether its service provider has obtained the relevant permissions.
Walmart also reminded providers that the ability to create new Delegated Access keys ended on July 30, 2026, and that existing keys are expected to work only through the end of September 2026. Service providers must migrate to OAuth 2.0 and have sellers reauthorize access; otherwise, bulk price changes, inventory synchronization, order management, and promotion management may be affected. Chinese cross-border sellers operating the U.S. site through third-party ERP systems should check authorization chains and complete promotion API testing before the end of September.
What does this mean for cross-border sellers?
Sellers relying on third-party ERPs or other approved service providers to manage Walmart’s U.S. site should monitor the end of new Delegated Access key creation and the expected expiration of existing keys at the end of September 2026. If a provider has not migrated to OAuth 2.0 and completed seller reauthorization, bulk price changes, inventory synchronization, order management, and promotion management may be affected. Access to the pricing and promotion sandbox also depends on the provider’s permissions.
What should sellers do now?
- 1Contact your ERP or Walmart technology service provider this week to confirm whether it has migrated to OAuth 2.0, whether reauthorization is required, and the status of authorization completion.Platform Policy
- 2Check current Delegated Access keys and authorized accounts in Seller Center or the service provider’s system, and schedule the switch from old keys in advance rather than waiting until the end of September 2026.
- 3Select one active product, confirm with the provider whether sandbox testing is available for pricing, promotion parameters, and inventory synchronization APIs, and complete one documented test.
