What happened?
Amazon Shipping is introducing 2026 peak-season delivery surcharges for U.S. sellers. The charges apply to Amazon sellers who ship with Amazon Shipping, Seller Fulfilled Prime sellers, and merchants who use Amazon Shipping for orders from other sales channels.
The fees will be imposed in two phases. From October 25 to November 21, 2026, each package will incur a $0.50 demand surcharge, an additional handling fee of $8.75, a large-package surcharge of $96.25 and an overweight-package surcharge of $530. From November 22 to December 26, the peak-rate period, the four fees will rise to $0.75, $11.90, $117.50 and $590, respectively.
Small-package sellers will mainly be affected by the per-package surcharges, while sellers of furniture, fitness equipment, appliances and long-shaped products face larger cost increases. Sellers that use FBA exclusively are not subject to this set of Amazon Shipping fees, but will still be affected by FBA peak-season fees.
What does this mean for cross-border sellers?
U.S. sellers using Amazon Shipping, Seller Fulfilled Prime or Amazon Shipping for orders from other channels need to recalculate per-shipment delivery costs for the 2026 peak season. Small items will mainly be affected by per-package surcharges, while furniture, fitness equipment, appliances and long-shaped products require close attention to large-package and overweight fees. Sellers using FBA exclusively are not subject to these Amazon Shipping fees but will still face FBA peak-season fees.
