- 1Geographic pricing for Ground Advantage based on the destination ZIP Code starts October 18, 2026
- 2eBay Labels automatically applies the applicable rate
- 3Oversized packages may still incur a Nonstandard Length Fee
What happened?
eBay's official guidance states that zone-based pricing for USPS Ground Advantage continues to affect the cost of domestic U.S. packages. Starting October 18, 2026, USPS will apply geographic pricing based on the destination ZIP Code. As a result, packages with the same weight and shipping zone may still have different shipping costs because their destination ZIP Codes differ. When sellers purchase labels through eBay Labels, the system will automatically apply the applicable rate. Packages longer than 22 inches up to 30 inches, or longer than 30 inches, may also continue to incur a Nonstandard Length Fee. The change affects sellers using U.S. domestic warehouses, self-fulfillment, overseas warehouses, and cross-border sellers shipping from the United States to buyers. Oversized products such as furniture, home goods, auto parts, sporting goods, and collectibles are more likely to be affected. If sellers continue to set free-shipping prices based on fixed zones or average shipping costs, long-distance orders may generate significant losses.
What does this mean for cross-border sellers?
Starting October 18, 2026, USPS Ground Advantage will be priced by destination ZIP Code, so orders with the same weight and shipping zone may still have different shipping costs. Sellers using U.S. domestic warehouses, self-fulfillment, or overseas warehouses should review oversized products, as fixed or average shipping rates may cause losses on long-distance orders.
What should sellers do now?
- 1This week, export oversized orders from U.S. domestic warehouses, self-fulfillment, and overseas warehouses; recalculate Ground Advantage shipping costs by destination ZIP Code; and flag packages measuring 22 to 30 inches and over 30 inches to create an exception list.Dimensional weight
