What happened?
Amazon announced account health protection for seller-fulfilled orders in U.S. delivery areas affected by Hurricanes Milton and Helene. Milton-related protection took effect on October 8, 2026, and will last at least through October 25; Helene-related protection took effect on September 25 and will last at least through October 18. The protection scope will be dynamically adjusted based on the first three digits of origin and destination ZIP codes. The announcement lists multiple ZIP code areas, including 286, 287, 288, 303, 320, 328, 330, 336, and 342. For affected eligible orders, relevant records will be removed from account health metric reports. Problems involving late shipment or failure to deliver by the promised date due to transportation delays generally will not be directly counted toward the relevant performance metrics. The protection does not automatically cover all orders. Sellers must still download metric reports in Account Health and verify the excluded orders; if any are missing, they can appeal to Seller Support. The measure mainly applies to U.S. FBM, Seller Fulfilled Prime, and other seller-fulfilled orders. FBA inventory and Amazon retail operations are not the focus of this protection.
What does this mean for cross-border sellers?
For eligible U.S. FBM, Seller Fulfilled Prime, and other seller-fulfilled orders affected by Milton or Helene, transportation delays, late shipments, and failure to deliver by the promised date may be removed from account health metric reports. Sellers should not assume that all orders are automatically protected: download the report, verify the orders, and appeal to Seller Support if any are missing. FBA inventory is not the focus of this protection.
What should sellers do now?
- 1Log in to U.S. Account Health this week and download the account health metric report. Focus on FBM and Seller Fulfilled Prime orders during the Milton period from October 8, 2026, through October 25, and record the removed orders for verification.Listing character checker
- 2Review affected U.S. orders by the first three digits of the origin and destination ZIP codes. Prioritize areas including 286, 287, 288, 303, 320, 328, 330, 336, and 342, and compile the order numbers and metric types for orders that were not removed into an appeal list.
- 3Submit appeals for omitted orders to Seller Support, attaching the order number, the first three digits of the origin and destination ZIP codes, and report screenshots. Completion requires an appeal record for every omitted order and a recheck of the transportation delay, late shipment, and failure-to-deliver-by-promised-date metrics.
