What happened?
TikTok Shop’s livestream auction policy applies to the Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam sites. Eligible sellers can set a starting price during a livestream, allowing consumers to purchase through bidding. Eligible products include collectibles, luxury goods, sneakers, jewelry, and other scarce or non-standardized goods.
The policy lists several seller eligibility requirements, including a shop rating of at least 3.0 or no rating yet, a violation score below 24 points, an Account Health Rating above 100, completion of the new-shop adjustment period, and no risk or fraud flags.
The platform treats livestream auction orders as binding purchase commitments. Unlike ordinary orders, the platform will not automatically issue rapid refunds, and sellers may participate in cancellation decisions. Exchanges and reshipments generally do not apply to auction orders.
For cross-border sellers dealing in pre-owned luxury goods, sneakers, collectibles, and clearance inventory, the rules provide a livestream sales channel but also require product authentication, inventory numbering, and higher fulfillment accuracy before going live.
What does this mean for cross-border sellers?
Eligible sellers can conduct livestream auctions in Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam, but auction orders are binding purchase commitments. Complete product authentication, inventory numbering, and fulfillment preparations before going live, and understand that exchanges and reshipments generally do not apply to auction orders.
What should sellers do now?
- 1For shops preparing to conduct livestream auctions in Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam, verify the shop rating, violation score, Account Health Rating, new-shop adjustment period, and risk flags item by item; create an eligibility checklist and pass every requirement.Listing character checker
- 2Create a one-item, one-number inventory sheet for auction listings covering collectibles, luxury goods, sneakers, and jewelry. Record authentication results, product condition, and available quantity, check each item scheduled for the livestream, and issue an inventory list.Procurement List
- 3Create a starting-price and cost comparison sheet for each livestream auction product. Cover all scheduled products, review inventory and fulfillment capacity, and ensure that every listing has a defined starting price and executable shipping arrangement before the livestream.Breakeven calculator
- 4State the product condition, purchase binding, and after-sales boundaries—typically excluding exchanges and reshipments—in the auction listings and livestream script. Check each scheduled item and retain the completed documentation.Listing Optimizer
